Capturing the Moment: Documenting the Construction Milestone of MFRS's New Training Academy and National Centre of Excellence.

The SAZ MEDIA team had the pleasure of documenting a special moment in the construction of Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service's (MFRS) new Training Academy and National Centre of Excellence. We were on site to capture the excitement and energy of the bolt tightening ceremony, which marked a significant milestone in the construction process of the impressive 12-acre site on Long Lane, Aintree, being built by Wates Group Construction.

We're thrilled that our photography has been featured in MFRS's article , showcasing the remarkable start of construction by Wates Group. This marks their fifth project with MFRS and their largest to date. We're proud to have captured the skill and craftsmanship of the Wates Group team as they work towards completing this vital facility for MFRS to the joy and pride of the MFRS team.

Through our photographs, we aim to capture the art of construction and the dedication of the people who make these remarkable projects a reality. We hope that our images convey the excitement and energy of this special event, while also representing the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved.

PHOTOGRAPHY, FUN AND WELLBEING: Our incredible photography workshop at The Garden House!

Our recent workshop was an incredible day full of adventure and excitement as we hosted our photography workshop for eight young people at The Garden House, a beautiful charity and community farm located in Marple Bridge! The location was perfect for our young photographers, with its scenic beauty, charming landscape, and adorable animals that were just waiting to be captured on camera.

As soon as we arrived, the group grabbed their cameras, eager to learn how to capture the perfect shot. Our Executive Director, Sara Auty, led the way along side with Gemma & Simra, teaching them about different angles and techniques that would make their photographs stand out from the crowd. It was amazing to see the young photographers so enthusiastic and committed to getting that perfect shot, no matter what it took - they even got down on the ground and looked nothing less than professional photographers taking the perfect shot!

The young photographers had a blast capturing the farm animals and the beautiful landscape, including the river that flowed across the forest surrounded by majestic trees in different sizes, beautiful and unique patterns and the nature around us overall.

After a few hours of snapping away, we took a well-deserved break for lunch. We had a lovely set-up under a tent, and as we enjoyed our lunch, the young people bonded over their shared love for photography and even played some table tennis afterwards. It was a great opportunity for them to bond over their shared passion for photography and make new friends.

During the workshop, we took some interviews with the young photographers, and it was inspiring to hear them talk about how much fun they were having and how they couldn't wait to learn more. We could see how much they had learned already as they shared their incredible shots with each other. Make sure to follow us on social media to see their inspiring interviews!

As the day came to a close, we were so happy to see our young photographers leaving The Garden House brimming with excitement, feeling inspired to continue pursuing their love of photography. It was an unforgettable experience for all of us, and we can't wait to host more workshops that inspire young people to capture the beauty around them.

In short, our photography workshop at The Garden House was an incredible success! It was a day full of fun, learning, and enjoyment that left us all feeling inspired and motivated. We can't wait to do it again soon!

Our photography workshops not only provide a fun and engaging activity for young people but they also have a positive impact on their wellbeing. Taking photographs allows them to focus on the present moment, be mindful of their surroundings, and express themselves creatively. It can also boost their confidence as they learn new skills and see the beautiful results of their work. In addition, our workshops offer a supportive and inclusive environment where young people can connect with others who share their interests and feel a sense of community. By fostering their passion for photography, we hope to contribute to their overall wellbeing and personal growth.

Thank you for joining us in today's blog about our photography workshop. We hope it was informative and inspiring for you.

ISG Site Photography in Sheffield

Exploring photography in construction: Jake Cunningham's Account

Date: Monday, 13th March 2023 Role: Camera Trainee

In the fast-paced world of photography and videography, every day brings new adventures and valuable lessons. Jake had the privilege of working alongside ISG in Sheffield, who are currently engaged in the exciting renovation of a Nationwide bank. In this blog, our camera trainee, Jake will share the highlights of his experience in his own words.

The day kicked off at 10 am, as I arrived on-site and was greeted with a brief but informative tour of the building including the Health and Safety requirements in this building construction zone.

Equipped with my trusty Canon EOS 6D camera, I set out to capture the essence of the bank's interior. Additionally, my lens aimed to capture the hardworking builders in action, thoroughly working on diverse projects such as the installation of ATM machines and electrical cabling, among others.

Throughout the day, valuable lessons unfolded, shaping my understanding of this dynamic field:

- The importance of finding a careful balance became clear. While ensuring the builders were aware of my presence it was crucial to stay out of their way.

- My grasp of the Canon EOS 6D camera expanded, as I explored its functionalities and discovered the most suitable settings to capture the unique environment of a construction site.

- I gained an invaluable insight: photographing a building goes beyond documenting the builders' actions, it is about capturing the spirit of the individuals involved and the architectural magnificence that surrounds them.

Today's project proved to be an exceptional learning experience, leaving me eager and motivated for the upcoming projects that lie ahead. Each new opportunity allows me to expand my knowledge, hone my skills, and contribute to the artistry of photography and videography. - Jake Cunningham.

Good Employment Charter Awards Event

Behind the scenes of one of the most inspiring events of the year at Whitworth Hall on April 27th stood the awesome SAZ MEDIA team, taking on the challenge of creating film and photography content for the Good Employment Charter Awards evening.

Our team had the privilege of covering the event with a combination of photography and videography, capturing the excitement and energy of the evening, ensuring that every moment was documented as it unfolded. From stunning shots of the guests and the awards being presented to the beautiful decor, we captured it all. Our team worked together seamlessly, ensuring that we were in the right place at the right time to document all the key moments of the event.

As we worked, we could feel the anticipation building, and we knew that we were in for a truly special evening. It was an incredible sight to see so many organisations being recognised for their hard work and dedication, and we were inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of the attendees who were committed to making a difference in their workplaces.

But it wasn't just about capturing the technical aspects of the event. As we worked, we were able to connect with the attendees on a personal level, capturing their excitement and energy for the event and a great opportunity for our team to able to showcase their skills, talents and our films we created with the finalists, which were presented on the big screen at the event.

We’re grateful to the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter for choosing us to be their video partners. We look forward to many more opportunities like this in the future, where we can showcase our skills and continue to grow as a team.

The SAZ MEDIA Team

Jake Cunningham

(Camera Trainee)

“As a part of the team, I was excited to take on the challenge of photographing a large-scale event with numerous guests at the Good Employment Charter Awards event. The experience proved to be a valuable opportunity for me to enhance my photography skills and techniques. I learned how to expertly capture the fast-paced and crowded environment of the event while mastering low-light settings, all while ensuring I provided effective assistance to our talented cameraman, Phil.

Furthermore, I had the pleasure of working alongside our entire team members, this allowed us to strengthen our connections and allowed us to work more effectively together."

Tolu Sholanke

(Photographer & Workshop Facilitator)

“As a participant in this project, I had the privilege of arriving at the Whitworth Hall early to capture some behind-the-scenes photos of the event space before the main event. The moment I stepped inside the hall, I was amazed by the large-scale of the hall with its long, wide dimensions and seemingly endless ceiling, a perfect venue chosen by the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. Everything had been perfectly prepared by their team for the event.

Using my keen eye for detail and lighting, I experimented with different lenses and angles to capture the perfect shots. Some of the shots that stood out for me were the stunning view of the hammer beam ceiling and the illuminated organ pipes behind the stage, which truly accentuated the venue's remarkable beauty.

As the day progressed, I decided to stay longer than I had originally planned, eager to use my 35mm in a different room adjacent to the hall where the attendees were meeting and having drinks before the dinner. I enjoyed taking lots of candid shots of people in this area, and I used my 35mm throughout. I was pleased with the results and felt that I had learned some valuable lessons that will serve me well in future projects. From now on, I'll always have my 35mm camera with me!”

Simra T.

(Digital Marketing Officer)

“Working on this project for the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter was an incredible privilege. I gained valuable insights into the dedication of the organisations committed to improving workplace culture for their employees.

It was a pleasure to meet the GMGEC team that is behind such incredible work in person at the event venue, and I was able to witness first-hand the amazing attention to detail that the GMGEC team exhibited in organising the event.

Working alongside our entire team, learning from our Executive Director, Sara Auty and seeing us all come together with great enthusiasm was a truly amazing experience. I am grateful to be a part of this movement and to play a small role in spreading the great work that GMGEC is doing.”

Wow what an amazing Launch Party!

A huge thank you to everyone who came to the SAZ MEDIA launch party at Merseyway Workshop. As you can see from the images it was a huge success and has inspired us to party more often!
We kicked off the event with a warm welcome to everyone, then presented the inspiring launch of www.wifilm.eu which is funded partly by Erasmus. This platform will inspire and educate women on roles in the film industry, as we know film is a male dominated career so it’s been really amazing to see that initiatives such as the WIFI project are still being constructed. We look forward to sharing the finished platform with you circa September 2022 where you will have access to a range of resources for free!
We also discussed up and coming workshops, volunteering and a community darkroom!
It was fantastic to see people from all over the Stockport community come to enjoy themselves together.

A huge thank you to Ailsa McPhee who led the dancing, Ailsa is an inspiration to us all and we can't thank her enough for the great music and entertainment.

Could this be a regular thing, last Friday of the month? Let us know if you’d like to attend.

Enjoy the pictures, Sara & Team :)
